A Birthday to Remember

It had been several weeks since Victoria and Joy had visited the Netherlands, and Victoria was glumly continuing with all the work that comes with running a farm. Since her birthday was on the 6th of December, the working students made her sleep in and not get up to feed. Little did she know that the students headed out at the break of dawn for the importation center to pick up a special present. They parked the trailer at the barn and led the beautiful grey mare up the hill to the house. Letting her loose in the snowy yard, still in her shipping boots, Joy quickly rang the doorbell and raced to hide behind a tree. After a minute, Victoria opened the door. When she saw the beautiful mare she'd thought she had lost, she gasped. Tears of joy streaming down her face, she hurried out into the cold and stroked the beautiful mare's face. 
Joy, Mattie, and Roman came out from their hiding places and Victoria hugged them each gratefully.
"How in the world did you all do this?!" she exclaimed. It was Joy who answered.
"Right before we left the Netherlands, I talked to Phil and he loved the idea. We planned to have him call you and tell you that she was sold on the day that he shipped her, and have her out of quarantine by your birthday. We then called your parents and they agreed to pay for shipping her. Then Phil agreed to give her to you as a Christmas present for free! So she's not really our Christmas present, she's from your parents and Phil."
"But you guys organized it all! Oh my gosh! I have to call my parents and thank them! Will you put Hazel in her stall while I do that? I love you guys you're the best. Take the rest of the day off. Unless you want to have a group lesson.."
"YES!" they all said in unison.

So Hazel is here! I absolutely love drawing this mare!! I love how she has one ear of each color!
